Islands reimagines the act of 3D rending. By 3D printing the models, programming the camera track with a motion control arm and shooting with 16mm analog film, the process of 3D rendering happens physically, in a studio setting instead inside a 3D render program. The shapes where inspired by the sculptural islands in the Scottish Hebredes. The camera investigates these island shapes curiously and moves freely around them, as if the structures had an arbitrary scale.
