An Avalanche is a 3D rendered short film. The scenography is based upon a scene from Akira Kurosawa’s film “Kagemusha”. In “An Avalanche”, two versions of the Roman God Mars appear, one is in a contorted, human state and the other is godlike and floating. The godlike version confronts the human in a conflicting and aggressive manner, although they are in fact the same. Lyrics from Leonard Cohen’s song “Avalanche” are the ending title of this film. This song describes a deity talking to his human counterpart, frustrated at the disturbed existence that the human leads. “An Avalanche” can be seen as an illustration of Leonard Cohen’s song.
