Natrix, 2023
A collborative video piece with Studio Frowijn, based around their sculpture in public space “Natrix Helvetica MMXXII“.
In the film Natrix, the original sculpture’s 8 elements have been 3D scanned – allowing them to become a digital material. This material grows within a watery digital landscape and undergoes various transitions before the pieces are fully formed to represent the Natrix Helvetica grass snake, the original source of inspiration for the sculpture. The elements in the film are grown using certain generative design commands within 3D software. Creating the shapes in this way allows the these digital structures to take on an organic form.
